An independent selection committee had selected Gurung as the local hero who made substantial contribution towards the society. Krishna Prasad Baral from Malepatan, Pokhara had nominated Gurung for the recognition, which MAW is awarding under its Alba Ratna campaign.
The winner was awarded Rs 50,000 along with a trophy and a certificate by chief guest Shankar Pokharel, Minister of Information and Communication, states a press release issued Tuesday. The nominator for the Alba Ratna was also given Rs 5,000 for helping MAW recognize the person who has made substantial contribution to the society selflessly.
Alba Ratna is a yearlong campaign through which the company will choose Alba Ratnas every month. Alba is 106 cc most economic bikes in the segment, the statement added.
