Gulmi landslide death toll reaches 12 as three missing found dead

KATHMANDU, July 25: Death toll in Tuesday’s Gulmi landslide has reached to 12 after rescuers recovered bodies of three missing locals on Wednesday.  

Min Bahadur Ghale, Deputy Superintendent of Police in the district confirmed that Maya BK of Thulolumpek and his son Babi BK were found dead. 

In Limgha, rescuers recovered the body of one and half years old Sanju BK. A seven-year-old Tara BK from Limgha is still missing. 

Meanwhile, two injured persons — Karishma Taramu and Dhaniram Taramu — were airlifted to Kathmandu. 

Parishwar Dhakal, chief of Satyawati Rural Municipality where the landslides devastated two villages — Limgha and Thulolumpek, informed that the injured were airlifted to Kathmandu. 

Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Gyawali had arranged a helicopter to airlift the injured.
