BIRATNAGAR, March 10: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has urged to make the election symbol red. Addressing a public meeting held at Rangeli in Morang on Wednesday, Oli urged the Election Commission (EC) to make the election symbol red.

Oli said that the EC was preparing to make the election symbol green to revive the old tree of the Nepali Congress. Oli made it clear to them that the green sign was not valid. "Green election symbol is being used to help Nepali Congress win the election,” he said. “Green election symbols are not acceptable to us, they should be made red.”

Oli, in most of his speech, insulted the Nepali Congress, the CPN (Maoist Center) and the CPN (Unified Socialist), and accused the Nepali Congress of running a village-to-village campaign against the UML. He argued that since the NC is already old and withered it is impossible to change.

Chairman Oli also said that Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s condition was bad. He said that he had no faith as Dahal had not only two tongues but thousand tongues. "Prachanda is not just two tongues. He has a thousand tongues," he said. "Prachanda's party is just a ball of illusion." Claiming that more than 6,000 cadres of different parties have joined UML in Rangeli alone, Oli said that UML would start its victorious journey from the local level.
