Govt to seek suggestions from private sector to revitalize economy

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The government is going to collect feedback and suggestions from the private sector on what can be done to further revitalize the economy of the country.

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The government is going to collect feedback and suggestions from the private sector on what can be done to further revitalize the economy of the country.


This decision was taken at a meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence Baluwatar on Monday evening to discuss the current status of the economy of the country, Finance Minister Dr Prakasharan Mahat said. The discussion will take place on Tuesday at the Prime Minister's Office, Singh Durbar.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held discussions with various ministries including Finance, the National Planning Commission, Nepal Rastra Bank and other agencies to get information about the current state of the economy and its future direction.


"We are seeking suggestions from the private sector about the current problems and challenges and the future course of action," Finance Minister Dr Mahat said.


In Monday's meeting, the Finance Minister briefed the Prime Minister about the economy of the country while the Governor of Rastra Bank and the representative of the National Planning Commission also presented their views.
