The government has sent invitations for talks to Upendra Yadav-led Federal Democratic Forum (FDF) and Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist -led alliance of various 33 fringe political parties. [break]“We have sent invitation letters to the agitating parties for talks,” said Minister for Information and Communications Madhav Poudel, who is also the government´s spokesperson.
Poudel also informed that the government has invited Yadav-led FDF for talks on Saturday. “We are planning to send invitation letters to other agitating parties as well,” he said.
Federal Socialist Party led by Ashok Rai, who defected a few months ago from CPN-UML, is one among the other agitating parties that the government plans to invite for talks.
Though an invitation has already been sent, the date for talks with the Baidya-led alliance is yet to be fixed. “We have asked the alliance to set a time of their convenience,” said Poudel.
Earlier, the top leaders of various agitating parties had complained that they were not contacted by the government for talks. However, Mohan Baidya-led alliance had announced not to hold talks questioning the legitimacy of the Khil Raj Regmi-led government.
