JUMLA, July 16: The health condition of Senor Orthopedic Surgeon Professor Dr Govinda KC, who has been on a fast-unto-death demanding reforms in medical sector, is deteriorating day by day.
He has started developing respiratory problems. “Dr KC suffered a bout of respiratory problems on Sunday night and asked doctors for help,” said his attendant Bishad Dahal.
“Dr KC has a critical heart problem. Pulse beats have significantly gone up with fluctuations of electrolytes in blood which indicates that the patient might suffer from heart-attack at any time,” Dahal quoted doctors attending KC as saying.
Similarly, he has developed the infection in his neck as he refused to take medicine. According to doctors, his hands are swollen. He needs to be treated under intensive care. But unfortunately, there is no ICU at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences where he has been staging the strike.
Meanwhile, the government has formed a talks team led by Secretary of Ministry of Education Khagaraj Baral in which joint secretary from Ministry of Home Affairs, Kedar Neupane and Guna Raj LoHealth areMinistry of Health are members.
