KATHMANDU, May 24: The government aims to achieve economic growth and stability through a combination of fiscal and monetary policies. As per the government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2022/23 presented by the President in parliament on Tuesday, agriculture, transport, information technology, industry and other sectors will be promoted along with the introduction of economic recovery programs.


According to the policies and programs presented by President Bidya Devi Bhandari, inflation will be kept within the required limits and other projects apart from projects of national importance, pride and transformation will be implemented at the provincial and local levels.

The government has given priority to the issues of conservation, utilization and beneficial distribution of natural resources through the coordination of all three layers of governments. The government aims to increase domestic production by advancing industrialization through clean programs and green economy through renewable resources.


At present, President Bhandari is reading out the policies and programs of the government in a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and National Assembly. In the meeting, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba handed a copy of the document to the president. The government will present the budget for the coming fiscal year on May 29 as per the policies and programs for the current fiscal year.
