In its 150 days academic calendar to run academic session in the TU and its constituent colleges, the university was able to conduct classes for less than 100 days. [break]Similarly, the reform plan issued by the Office of the Prime Minister (PMO) has also directed the concerned authorities to hold examinations on time.
“The officials at all universities and the Office of the Exam Controller are responsible to make the academic sector smooth. Thus, such officials who fail to perform their duty to run a complete academic calendar and exam on time will be dismissed from their particular responsibility,” reads the PMO plan issued on Tuesday. The plan comes into effect immediately.
In the reform plan, the PMO has also introduced a new program for the Masters´ degree level in which the students have to compulsorily do an internship in community schools to receive their transcript and certificates from their respective colleges and universities.
The provision for the students of science, information technology, humanities, education and management is to come into effect within a year.
In it´s another plan to promote the students under poverty line the government has announced a scholarship program in Staff Nurse course for one female student from each Village Development Committees from the next fiscal year. The office has directed the Ministry of Education (MoE), Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Ministry of Health to ensure the scholarship.
Similarly, the government for the first time has come up with the concept to prepare the innovation center that aims to give platform to the emerging scientists in the country.
