Gold price hits record high; rises by Rs 2,400 per tola on Monday

The federation had raised the price by Rs 3,000 on Saturday, setting it at Rs 238,000 per tola. The price remained stable on Sunday before climbing again to a record level.

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: The price of gold surged to an all-time high on Monday, increasing by Rs 2,400 per tola compared to the previous day. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, hallmark gold is now being traded at Rs 240,400 per tola.



The federation had raised the price by Rs 3,000 on Saturday, setting it at Rs 238,000 per tola. The price remained stable on Sunday before climbing again to a record level. On Friday, gold was traded at Rs 235,000 per tola, while Thursday’s price had risen by Rs 1,200 to reach Rs 239,200 — then the highest rate ever recorded.

Similarly, the price of silver has also increased by Rs 95 per tola, reaching Rs 3,230 on Monday. It was traded at Rs 3,125 per tola on Sunday and had risen by Rs 40 on Saturday compared to Friday’s Rs 3,085. On Thursday, silver had gained Rs 75 per tola, trading at Rs 3,025.


In the international market, gold prices have continued to rise, with Monday’s rate standing at USD 4,057.28 per ounce, while silver is trading at USD 51.6 per ounce.
