KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The price of gold has set a new record within a week. The price of gold has increased by Rs 1,700 per tola in the domestic market on Sunday.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Associations, fine gold has been priced at Rs 158,800 per tola. This is the highest price of gold recorded so far which has surpassed the previous record set on September 16, trading at Rs 157,300 per tola.

Meanwhile, the price of silver has increased by Rs 5 per tola. Silver is being traded at Rs 1,920 per tola today, up from Rs 1,915 per tola on Friday.
