The deceased has been identified as Pratiksha Kayastha, 18, from Nadipur of Pokhara Sub- Metropolis. The accident took place when the bus (Na 4 Kha 7437) heading towards Dumre from Damauli and a scooter (Ga 5 Pa 7430) coming from opposite direction collided at Chhirkane of Ghansikuwa-8.
Seriously injured Kayastha died on the way to the hospital, police said. Scooter rider Samiksha Kayastha, 23, has been critically injured in the accident and referred to Pokhara for further treatment. Pratiksha was the younger sister of Samiksha.
Police have arrested the bus driver and impounded the bus and further investigation into the case is underway.
