“The government should counter the forces opposing the elections,” Gautam said adding the CA elections would be held on the scheduled date even if the Baidya-led CPN-Maoist and Upendra Yadav-led Madheshi People´s Rights Forum boycott the elections. He further added the parties who boycott the elections would be accountable for their own choice.
Vice-Chairman Baidya said the demands by the agitating parties, including CPN-Maoist, are not possible to address at this time. “The CPN-Maoist and other fringe parties have not accepted the legitimacy of the incumbent government, nor have they agreed on the prerequisites of the CA elections. So at this time, how can their demands be addressed?” he questioned.
