KATHMANDU, May 5: The chief minister (CM) of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung has tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to Dr Bikash Gauchan of the Infectious and Communicable Disease Hospital in Pokhara, Gurung had undergone an antigen test at the hospital and the test result was positive.

His swab sample has been sent to the Public Health Laboratory of Gandaki Province for a PCR test, Gauchan added. The test result is yet to be received according to Sapana Subedi, director of the Public Health Laboratory of Gandaki Province.
Gurung has been reported to be experiencing mild fever and headache among other symptoms of COVID-19.
Earlier, CM Gurung’s personal secretary tested positive for COVID-19.
