While the festival promises to fulfill all your shopping needs, you can also relish a wide variety of delicious Nepali and international cuisines, freshly prepared at the food stalls.
Shanti Ghimire, a student of Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus, was waiting for her order to be served when she said, “One of the reasons why I visit festivals like this is to relish varieties of food at one place. Food courts in different malls also serve the purpose, but the price is far reasonable here.”
Another highlight of the Mahamela is the kids’ zone, where children can play a wide variety of games while their parents or guardians are busy shopping.
Live concert by popular Nepali folk artists like Badri Pangeni, Nisha Sunar, Bimal Dangi, among others, and performances by celebrated Nepali comedians Jeetu Nepal, Rabi Dangol, Debi Ram Parajuli, etc at the Bhrikuti Mandap ground entertained the crowd to their heart’s content.
Many people eagerly waited for the concert and the performance much before they even commenced.
Kamal Bharati, who was there at the festival with his friends, exclaimed, “I’m a big fan of Badri Pangeni and Jeetu Nepal. I’m going home for Dashain the day after tomorrow, and the only reason I came here is to watch them live. The free entrance for everyone makes the whole thing even more exciting!”
Catch popular singer Raju Lama and renowned Indian singer Lucky Ali perform live today (Saturday).
The shopping festival will go on till October 7. Entrance is free for all.
