Fugitive on bank fraud case lands into police net

BANEPA, Jan 18: Shyam Krishna Khatri, 45, of Banepa Municipality -10, who was at large after being convicted of banking fraud, has been arrested by police.

He was caught Monday by police from Budol of Banepa Municipality-11. Acting on the order of the District Court Kavrepalanchwok, the police sent him to the District Prison Dhulikhel, the District Police Office Kavre said.



Khatri had been convicted of banking fraud by the Patan Appellate Court and was sentenced to three years in prison along with the fine of Rs 82.38 million on May 1, 2014.

The police in the district have so far arrested 130 fugitives on different crime cases in a period of two and half months after the DPO here launched a special drive against them. RSS
