KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Police have arrested a man on charges of defrauding an individual of Rs 255,000 by falsely promising to send them to the United States.
The accused has been identified as 24-year-old Sujan Ale Magar, a resident of Lalitpur Metropolitan City–4 and originally from Nilkantha Municipality–13, Dhading. He was taken into custody on Sunday.

According to police, Ale Magar collected Rs 255,000 from the victim with assurances of arranging travel to the US but later went out of contact. Acting on a complaint filed by the victim, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested him from Kathmandu Metropolitan City–11.
Police said he has been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation and legal action.
