Four people in serious condition due to suffocation in Koteshwar

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Four people are in serious condition due to suffocation caused by the smoke from burning coal in Alliya Nagar of Koteshwar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Four people are in serious condition due to suffocation caused by the smoke from burning coal in Alliya Nagar of Koteshwar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.


The police said that they suffocated around 8PM on Friday night as Kumar Khatri's room on the fifth floor of the house was closed while coal was burnt to warm the room. The patients are 90-year-old Chal Maya Khatri, 70-year-old Silmaya Katuwal, 24-year-old Pramila Khatri and her 35-day-old son Shriyal Khadka.

As soon as the incident came to light, the team of police circle New Baneshwar rescued them and took them to the Civil Hospital.


Currently, three people are being treated in the ICU ward of the hospital, while Chal Maya has been referred to the Nepali Army hospital.
