KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has accused four leaders of being involved in massive corruption in the country.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Saturday, Chairman Oli accused four leaders of robbing the country in the name of democracy. He said that the leaders of the ruling parties are engaged in fulfilling their interests and promoting the interest of their own family members and relatives.
"Four leaders together are creating corruption and looting the country in the name of democracy," he said. "The country should be protected from such leaders."
How strong is internal democracy within political parties?
Chairman Oli also accused the government of increasing tension and showing arms in the Citizenship Bill. He said that the government is showing power on the Citizenship Bill by ignoring the suggestions of the President.
Oli, however, claimed that the government is not against giving citizenship to the children of naturalized citizens. He said that instead of passing the Citizenship Bill, the government is trying to stop it and increase tension.
Chairman Oli claimed that the government is involved in vote politics by raising tension in everything, accusing the opposition and spreading confusion among the people. In response to a question asked by reporters about whether the president should certify the bill or resign, he said, "There is no such thing as the president resigning at the order of someone."
Oli alleged that the government was showing arrogance by ignoring the genuine suggestions given by the President and sending the decision outside the parliament.
