Bhattarai organized the discussion a week after he resigned as lawmaker and quit UCPN (Maoist). In the discussion, Bhattarai floated the idea of forming an policy group for economic development. The group will comprise of private sector institutions, Non- Resident Nepalis and experts.

Bhattarai also said that the group will devise new policy and programs to materialize his dream of forming a 'new force'.

Expressing reservation on the promulgation of new constitution, he said demands raised by people in the southern belt should have been addressed before endorsing the statute.

Everyone is curiously watching the next move of Bhattarai who resigned as lawmaker after signing the new constitution.

Commenting on the new constitution, he said the dream of having a constitution has been fulfilled. "The country has now entered into a new course. Our focus should now be on economic development," he added.

At the discussion, business leaders questioned Bhattarai why the phrase 'socialism-oriented economy' was written in the constitution despite opposition from the private sector and business community.
