Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee begins discussion with former Finance Minister Sharma

KATHMANDU, July 21: Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee has started discussion with former Finance Minister Janardan Sharma. Sharma has reached the meeting called at 8AM today for discussion.

KATHMANDU, July 21: Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee has started discussion with former Finance Minister Janardan Sharma. Sharma has reached the meeting called at 8AM today for discussion.


On Wednesday, the committee held a discussion with two journalists who wrote news about involvement of ‘unauthorized persons’ in the budget preparation.

The committee is also set to extend its deadline for a week as it could not submit its report within the stipulated time.


An 11-member parliamentary special investigation committee was formed  on July 6 after the then Finance Minister Sharma was accused of manipulating tax rates by calling unauthorized persons at the finance ministry in the middle of the night while preparing the 2022/23 budget.
