FNJ burns copies of 'Janakpur Today'

JANAKPUR, Sept 20: Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Dhanusha Chapter on Sunday burnt down the copies of a local daily ´Janakpur Today´ and demanded that action be taken against its editor.



FNJ Dhanusha Chapter has claimed that a news report titled ´FNJ cultivates illusions´ published on the Sunday´s issue of the newspaper defamed the FNJ.



Chapter chairman Umesh Shah said the news about the annual general meeting of the chapter which took place last week was published in a bid to “assassinate his character”. Shah in a statement on Sunday has appealed to the Press Council and Department of Information to take action against the newspaper.
