FNCCI honors SEJON team

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Kush Kumar Joshi Thursday said new investment would not enter into the country unless peace and security situation was restored.



Joshi said frequent bandas, strikes and chakkajams were seriously affecting the investment environment in the country.



"We want to see the government´s commitment to bring an end to bandas, strikes and chakkajams implemented," Joshi said, while addressing a program organized by the FNCCI to honor the newly elected office-bearers of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON).



He also claimed that bandas and strikes were the major causes behind the skyrocketing prices of food commodities in the market. He also expressed commitment to continue fighting against cartel and syndicate system, which are also against the competitive market economy.



The FNCCI boss also expressed interest to work jointly with SEJON to run skill enriching programs for business journalists in the coming days. Bhaskar Raj Karnikar, vice-president of the FNCCI, stressed on the need to forge professional alliance between the two organizations.



SEJON´s newly elected president Narayan Sapkota said business journalists were always ready to cooperate with the business community in their efforts to create favorable business environment in the country.
