Flood in Ratuwa River displaces 13 households

BANIYANI, June 20: As many as 13 families were displaced and 25 households inundated when a flood-fed Ratuwa river in Jhapa eroded a human settlement.

BANIYANI, June 20: As many as 13 families were displaced and 25 households inundated when a flood-fed Ratuwa river in Jhapa eroded a human settlement. 


Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Jhapa, SP Basanta Pathak shared the flood-triggered erosion near a human settlement at Damak Municipality-7 caused displacement of households. 


Among the displaced families are of Khadga Limbu, Rajesh Kisku, Bishnu Limbu, Manoj Maskey, Subash Limbu, Bharati Tamang, Ramkumari Lawati, Lakpa Sherpa, Goma Tamang, Dik Bahadur Gurung, Suryaman Acharya, Deepak Gurung and Bimal Kisku.

As informed, Nepal Police and locals had teamed up to rescue the families. The flood caused damages to their houses. 


Likewise, a flood in the same river entered the human settlement at Gauradaha Municipality-6, Tanguwa settlement this morning. 


The flood waterlogged 25 households of the settlement, police said.
