The flights were affected by technical snags on immigration department’s website

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: International flights were halted at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday afternoon due to a technical problem. Airport authorities said that the flights resumed after two hours.

According to sources at the airport, the technical glitch was a result of the server going down at the Immigration Department’s office at TIA.

General Manager of TIA Premnath Thakur said that the international flights have been allowed to take off and land manually

“The flights are taking place in a usual way manually,” Thakur said.

Thakur, however, said that the airport is crowded due to some issues with the passengers’ management in the lounges.

Five to six international flights including Fly Dubai, Indigo Air and Air India resumed operation after the issue was resolved.
