Adverse weather affects flights at TIA

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Domestic and international flights from the Tribhuvan International Airport have been affected due to adverse weather on Tuesday.

The flights at the airport have been affected since morning due to low visibility caused by thick smog in the sky of Kathmandu. Bhola Prasad Guragain, general manager at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), said that the flights to and from the airport were affected due to bad weather.

The weather has also affected the operation of flights to and from some domestic airports.

According to the airport, even if the flights are delayed, the airlines will do their best to take the passengers to their destinations. As per the Meteorological Forecasting Department, the country is currently under the influence of a western low pressure system.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most places and light snowfall in high mountainous and hill areas. There is a thick blanket of fog in the hilly region and some parts of the Terai region. Today, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu is 3.6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 17 degrees Celsius.
