KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Five people sustained serious injuries in a Bolero jeep accident this morning in Changkheli Rural Municipality, Humla.
According to Police Inspector Narendra Chand of the District Police Office, the accident occurred when the jeep (Karnali Pra 2001H 0922) en route to Deuli Bazar from Garkha, Changkheli-2 met with an accident in Mugu road, Gaurisalla.
Jeep airlifted to Humla at a cost of Rs 1 million
There were seven people in the jeep, including the driver. Five of them were seriously injured, while two of the injured are in a stable condition.
The injured have been identified as Surendra Shahi, 35, of Changkheli Rural Municipality, Til Bahadur Shahi, 50, Rabin Shahi, 15, and Prithvi Rawat,40, and Ramesh Malla of Chhayanath Municipality-13, Mugu.
The driver Mahendra Bikram Shah of Budhinanda Municipality-4, Bajura and Mayadevi Shahi of Changkheli-2 sustained minor injuries.
As soon as the accident took place, a seven-member team led by Assistant Sub Inspector Balkrishna Khand of Mimi Police Station reached the spot and rescued them.
The jeep had fallen 150 meters off the road while taking a turn.
