HUMLA, June 19: A jeep traveling from Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla, to Hilsa, plunged into the Karnali River near Chyachhara of Uttari Namkha Rural Municipality-2 in Humla, on Monday morning.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhim Bhattarai at the District Police Office, Humla, there were 13 passengers including the driver in the jeep. The 25-year-old Rajesh Lama, a jeep driver from Janakpur, was injured in the accident. He is being treated at District Hospital Humla.
Driver goes missing as jeep plunges into Karnali river
The jeep, which was climbing up Chyachhara cliff in Humla fell from the cliff into the Karnali river. Police said that the driver managed to jump out of the jeep but was seriously injured. Police said there were no other human casualties as passengers in the jeep got off while the driver was going uphill.
