Five held for drug trafficking, kidnapping made public

DHARAN, Sept 10: The Sunsari police made five persons arrested on charges of drug smuggling and kidnapping public on Thursday.



Organizing a press conference, District Police Office Sunsari made public Rinku Gupta, 28, of Supaul, India, Tularam Khawas of Dumraha-4 and Rajesh Kumar Mishra of Pakali-8, Sunsari. They were caught red handed from Fulbari Hotel in Inaruwa on Wednesday evening in possession of 390 grams of heroin worth about Rs 6 million. The police also recovered four mobile phone sets from them.



Similarly, two persons involved in the abduction of Shekhar Pokharel, a staffer at Nepal Telecom Regional Office, Biratnagar, were also made public at the press conference. The arrested are Budhnarayan Mahato and Santosh Mahato of Sunsari.



Pokharel was abducted from Amahibelaha of Sunsari on July 17. The Indian police had later rescued him from Farbesgunj, India.
