Five construction companies blacklisted

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has blacklisted five construction business and supplier companies for stalling the contracts of various public bodies.

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has blacklisted five construction business and supplier companies for stalling the contracts of various public bodies.


The PPMO issued a notification today and said that the companies have been blacklisted. “According to the Public Procurement Act, 2063, as written by various agencies, these builders and supplier companies have been blacklisted. During the blacklisting period, these companies will not be allowed to participate in any procurement of public bodies,” said the procurement monitoring office in a notification.

According to the decision of the PPMO last Thursday, Engineers Construction and Mint Craft Pvt Ltd based in Bharatpur-4 in Chitwan district has been blacklisted for one year. This company, whose director is Bikas Shrestha, had stalled the contract of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality of Chitwan. 


On the recommendation of Khairahani Municipality of Chitwan, Jaya Gadhimai Construction Pvt Ltd has also been blacklisted. Sita Ram Chaudhary is the main director of this company, which has been blacklisted for one year.


Similarly, Mudbhary & Joshi Construction Pvt Ltd, which is owned by Karan Kumar Mudbhary, has been blacklisted for two years. According to the PPMO, this company did not work according to the contract agreement with Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company. 


In the same way, Guna Construction Sewa that stalled the work of Durgalakshmi Multipurpose Campus, Kailali, under Sudurpaschim School has also been blacklisted. This company, which is run by Gunaraj Pathak, has been blacklisted for one year. Barbardiya Municipal Office of Bardiya has recommended blacklisting Kalpana Construction Pvt.
