KATHMANDU, June 3: Separate fire accidents across five districts: Bara, Kapilvastu, Rolpa, Saptari, and Parsa, on Monday and Tuesday caused property losses amounting to approximately Rs 4.2 million.
The most significant damage occurred at Bara Distillery Pvt Ltd in Bishrampur Rural Municipality-5, where an electrical short circuit sparked a blaze, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs 2.66 million.
MTPD recovers 2.1 million worth of lost properties
In Kapilvastu Municipality-3, a fire at Sudama Poultry Farm destroyed property worth Rs 500,000.
Similarly, a fire completely destroyed a thatched house belonging to Durgalal BK in Rolpa Municipality-10, causing damage estimated at Rs 500,000.
An electrical short circuit at Maa Durga Hardware Store in Kanchanpur Bazaar, Saptari, led to damages worth Rs 400,000.
In Pidriguthhi, Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality-1 of Parsa district, a fire damaged the residence of Mojamil Ray Bhagat and Hafiz Ray Bhagat, resulting in losses of about Rs 100,000.
According to police, all the fires were brought under control with the help of locals and fire brigades. Investigations into the causes are ongoing.
