Around 78 houses of 33 families have been reported to be destroyed by the fire. Rescuers had demolished 28 houses to prevent the fire spreading further.The rescue team comprising fire brigades from Itahari and Inaruwa along with locals battled for nearly eight hours to contain the massive fire.
The detail of the incident is yet to be ascertained.
