Fire engulfs 108 houses in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ, May 4: Property worth around 15 million has been engulfed in a fire that broke out at Yoginiyan VDC of the district on Friday night.



A total of 108 houses of 36 families were reduced into ashes in the fire.[break]



The fire which sparked from the house of Jaya Krishna Banbariya Yadav due to electric short circuit had spread to nearby houses and burnt them down in no time.



According to local, the blaze has destroyed everything including cloths, food grains and utensils, as it could not be brought out.



Fire brigades from Biratnagar, Rajbiraj Municipality and Dharan along with the help of locals and Nepal Police personnel had brought the fire under control.



Although it has been estimated that property worth Rs 15 million was destroyed in the fire, according to DSP Shyam Singh Chaudhary, Spokesperson here at the district police office, they are still collecting details of losses.
