No human casualty has been reported, according to Ishwari Regmi, administrative officer with NRCS, Banke.
Continuous effort from locals, police, social workers and a fire engine from Nepalgunj failed to save the houses from burning.
Meanwhile, officials on Monday distributed relief materials to 25 families of Rataiya village of Kalaphanta-5 whose houses were burnt to ashes on Sunday evening. Banke´s Chief District Officer Birendra Baniya said each household was given Rs 1,000 and dry food as an immediate relief.
Officials are yet to ascertain how much property was damaged in the fire.
