DHADING, Sept 28: A man has been arrested on the charge of raping his own daughter. 

The 35-year-old man from Tripura Sundari Rural Municipality was arrested on the basis of a complaint that he repeatedly raped his 14-year-old daughter, according to the district police office.

The girl told police that she was most recently raped by her father when her mother and younger brother were not at home on September 24, said Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Saptari, Rabindra Regmi. The girl is now in a safe house and a thorough health check up has been conducted. 

According to the girl, she was repeatedly raped by her father since she was just five-year old. The matter was known to her mother only recently. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
