Farmer electrocuted while irrigating paddy field in Rautahat

The incident occurred in Ward 8 of Ishnath Municipality, Mansari Tole, when 55-year-old Sheikh Jafir Alam was using an electric motor to irrigate his rice field. He was critically injured after receiving an electric shock from a wire connected to the irrigation pump.

RAUTAHAT, Aug 4 : A farmer died after being electrocuted while irrigating a paddy field in Rautahat district.



The incident occurred in Ward 8 of Ishnath Municipality, Mansari Tole, when 55-year-old Sheikh Jafir Alam was using an electric motor to irrigate his rice field. He was critically injured after receiving an electric shock from a wire connected to the irrigation pump.

According to police, Jafir was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for treatment but was pronounced dead by medical personnel upon arrival.


Rautahat police said that his body is currently undergoing postmortem at the same hospital.
