Exorbitant fares hit people in Chitwan

CHITWAN, Oct.18: Public vehicles bound for short-route in Chitwan have been collecting exorbitant fare taking the advantage of the Tihar festival, according to locals.



It is said they have also not providing discount on student identity cards. Despite we informed the local administration about exorbitant fare many times, our voices have fallen on deaf ears, said one Arjun Parajuli of Ratnagar.



However, the administration claimed that it has intensified the checking of the vehicles following the complaint of the arbitrary raising of the public fare. The administration has taken action against those vehicles found charging the fare more than regular time during the check, said Police Superintendent of Police Gyan Bikram Shah.
