DoTM reduces transport fares for long distance passengers (with new fares)

KATHMANDU, May 17: The government has reduced the fares of long-distance passengers and freight vehicles. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has announced the reduction in fares effective from today.

KATHMANDU, May 17: The government has reduced the fares of long-distance passengers and freight vehicles. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has announced the reduction in fares effective from today.


The prices of diesel and kerosene were reduced by Rs 10 per liter only on Tuesday. With the decrease in the price of petroleum products, the Department of Transport Management has announced new fares for passenger and cargo vehicles.

According to the DoTM, fares have decreased by 3.20 percent for passenger vehicles, 4.19 percent for cargo vehicles operating on mountain roads and 4.65 percent for cargo vehicles operating on Terai roads.
