KATHMANDU, July 23: Esewa Money Transfer, a digital-first remittance company in Nepal and a part of the F1Soft Group, has signed a partnership agreement with Japan-based remittance provider Yehey Remit to facilitate faster and more secure money transfers from Japan to Nepal, the company said in a press statement.
Under this partnership, Nepalis residing in Japan can now send remittances directly to Nepal through the Yehey Remit mobile app. The press release further stated that the service allows recipients in Nepal to receive funds through over 13,800 dedicated remit agents, more than 100,000 eSewa wallet-enabled cash pick-up locations, major banks and financial institutions or directly into their eSewa wallets offering greater flexibility and convenience in remittance collection.
The agreement was signed between Esewa Money Transfer CEO Ajesh Koirala and Yehey Remit Managing Director Nabin Neure. The companies aim to make cross-border money transfers more accessible, especially for the large Nepali diaspora in Japan, which contributes significantly to Nepal’s remittance inflows.
