LASHKAR GAH, AFGHANISTAN, June 13: A total of 11 militants have been confirmed dead after fighting aircrafts pounded some Taliban hideouts in Nad Ali and Marja districts of the southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, media reports said referring to a statement released by the Afghan Army on Thursday.
In the air raids which were conducted Wednesday afternoon, a number of armed insurgents had also been injured and their hideouts were destroyed, Xinhua News Agency reported quoting the statement of the Afghan Army.
Afghan forces kill 17 militants in southern Afghanistan
No civilians and security personnel had been harmed during the air operations, according to the report. Taliban militants who are active in parts of the restive Helmand province have not commented yet.
