Eight arrested for timber smuggling

KANCHANPUR, Nov 8: Authorities have arrested eight persons including an official of the community forest located at Shankerpur in accusation of timber smuggling.

KANCHANPUR, Nov 8: Authorities have arrested eight persons including an official of the community forest located at Shankerpur in accusation of timber smuggling. 



Bagbani Community Forest Vice Chairman, Dukhat Rana, was arrested along with Sundarlal Chaudhary, Jivan Rana, China Chaudhary, Jit Ram Rana, Changa Rana, Bechram Rana and Ramu Rana while hoarding raw Sal timber at Gorugadha area, said Sub Inspector, Katak Bahadur Kunwar, of Area Police Office, Shankerpur. 



District Forest Office, Kanchanpur Chief, Shiva Prasad Sharma, said they have launched investigation over those who have been arrested. "The forest employees or any official of the forest consumer committee will be subjected to legal action if the investigation proves them to be guilty," he said. RSS
