Egg prices hiked again within five days

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: The price of eggs has risen once more, just five days after the last increase. Effective from Friday, the Nepal Layers Poultry Farmers' Association has announced a new price adjustment.

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: The price of eggs has risen once more, just five days after the last increase. Effective from Friday, the Nepal Layers Poultry Farmers' Association has announced a new price adjustment.

Following a meeting held both physically and virtually on Thursday, the Layers Association set the support prices for eggs based on Chitwan. The updated prices are Rs 435 for medium eggs, Rs 510 for large eggs, and Rs 525 for XL eggs, per crate.


Previously, on August 24, the price of XL eggs was raised by Rs 5, and the prices of large and medium eggs were increased by Rs 10, setting the price of XL eggs (for a pack of 30) at Rs 505 per crate. The prices for large and medium eggs were adjusted to Rs 495 and Rs 425 per crate, respectively.
