Educational strike in Bara against shooting of principal

BIRGUNJ, Dec 28: Teachers’ unions have announced a three-day closure of educational institutions here starting Sunday in protest against the shooting of principal Nirmala Thaseneku on Thursday.



Nepal Teachers’ Union, Bara and other associations staged demonstrations in the district headquarter Kalaiya Sunday morning. The agitating teachers also handed over a memorandum to the District Administration Office, Bara demanding arrest of the culprit and guarantee of security at educational institutions.



Thaseneku, who was shot at in her office on Thursday afternoon, is in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu. Bara incharge of Tarai Cobra ‘Bibek’ had owned up the shooting.
