KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The Election Commission (EC) has urged candidates to fully abide by the election code of conduct.
As soon as the complaints were received about election campaigning by political party candidates and independent candidates, the commission warned them to fully comply with the election code of conduct.
Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, who is also the coordinator of the Election Code of Conduct Central Monitoring Committee, said that according to the Code of Conduct, campaigning can be done only 17 days before the day of the election (from November 4).
Bhandari warned the candidates to follow the provision that they can hold door-to-door programs and not more than 25 people can participate in it. He asked the EC not to do such things, saying that the complaints about the door-to-door campaigns have been received by the EC.
