KATHMANDU, July 27: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Ayodhi Prasad Yadav on Wednesday said that Election Commission (EC) was capable to hold elections of all the three levels -- local, provincial and federal.
“If the government declares dates by formulating necessary provisions, we are ready to hold all three elections,” Yadav said while speaking at an interaction at Reporters’ Club in the Capital, “EC is eager to accomplish the duty of holding polls.”
Saying that EC had successfully held two elections of Constituent Assembly (CA), CEC Yadav said that period election was necessary to strengthen multi-party federal democratic republic.
He said that the onus lies on EC to hold elections of all three levels by January 21, 2018 as per the constitutional provision, adding that EC is preparing to hold polls.
