There’s a saying that ‘We are what we eat.’ A healthy life demands a healthy lifestyle which includes a healthy diet. But today, when we’re inundated with so much of delicious junk food that’s easily available, a healthy diet just tends to be forgotten.

But we would like to remind you to eat healthy. To start with, cook a lot of different vegetables for your meal. Nutritionists are always saying that we need to fill half our plates with vegetables, and to make sure that they are of different colors (indicating different nutrients).

Eat a fruit every day. Chew slowly and savor your meal. Limit your salt intake as too much can lead to high blood pressure. Adding more fiber in your diet (beans, whole grains, apples, citrus fruits, nuts, carrots, and tomatoes) will help in keeping away excess weight and risk of diabetes. Ditch soft drinks; drink plenty of water. Now that the summer is approaching, look up ways to create a fresh juice.

Also, pack something healthy and homemade for your siblings. Encourage a healthy eating habit.
