According to a press statement issued by US Embassy in Kathmandu, those wishing to take part in the lottery program can fill applications electronically till November 3.[break]
Applicants may access the electronic Diversity Visa entry form (E-DV) at www.dvlottery.state.gov during the registration period. "The U.S. Embassy would like to remind applicants that there is no fee to enter the DV lottery. Entries for the DV-2014 Diversity Visa lottery must be submitted electronically during the registration period," the statement said.
DV winners must have the equivalent of twelve years of formal education at a minimum to qualify for a visa. Vocational degrees, including one from the CTEVT, will count only if they are accepted in Nepal as a basis for further academic study to all programs in all institutes of higher education.
The statement has asked the applicants to print and save their confirmation page which includes the applicant´s Entry Status Check. Entrants must provide an e-mail address as part of their entry. Applicants can check whether they have been selected for the DV by logging on to www.dvlottery.state.gov between May 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 with their Entry Status Check.
"Please be aware that even if you are selected as a DV winner and receive the second letter from KCC this does not guarantee that you will receive a visa. At the time of your visa interview, a Consular Officer will determine whether you meet the qualifications and are eligible for the DV under the laws of the United States," the statement further added.
