Police arrested Purushottam Giri, 35, currently living in the area of Kanchanpur district possessing 50 pieces of drug capsule. [break]
Giri was engaged in drug transaction bringing it from across the border in India for a long time, said Inspector Ashok Chanda at the Ward Police Office, Mahendranagar.
Giri is detained in the custody of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur for further investigation.
It is noted that some 100 drug users and peddlers have been nabbed by police since last April till date.
Police have estimated that there are some 300 drug users and 20 to 30 drug peddlers in the district.
