Twenty-three people have died and hundreds of others have been infected with the virus that broke out in remote VDCs of the district three weeks ago.
Dr KC, who had been recuperating from his 12 days hunger strike had planned to visit the district earlier but his physicians, prohibited him on grounds of his fragile health. "They suggested I don't go to Jajarkot as my own immune system was weaker," Dr KC told to Republica.
Dr KC has previously traveled to the Philippines, Haiti, Pakistan, India and other countries to respond to natural disasters.

Meanwhile, former chairman of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA) Som Lal Bataju died of H1N1 virus on Sunday. Bataju, who underwent treatment at the Grande International Hospital passed away at 2 am on Sunday night.
Bataju, who is also the proprietor of SOS manpower, was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago after contracting the virus.
