Dr Ambedkar Award for state minister Gautam

KATHMANDU, Dec 10: State Minister for General Administration Jitu Gautam has been felicitated with Dr Ambedkar International Award on the occasion of silver jubilee of the Indian Dalit Literature Academy and National Dalit Litterateurs´ Conference.



Gautam was awarded with the prize amid a function in Panchashil Aashram, Buradi of New Delhi, India, on Wednesday. The famous Indian prize is awarded to a person for his special contribution to dalit movement.



On the occasion State Minster Gautam said the award has made him more responsible for dalit liberation movement and added it would help strengthen the ties between the peoples of the two countries to expedite the movement.



Gautam said Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar´s contribution to the Indian constitution drafting would be a guideline to Nepalese at a time our country is in a mission to write the new constitution.



On the occasion, State Minister for Physical Planning and Works Kalawati Devi Paswan, lawmaker Shanti Devi Thapa and other leaders of dalit movement in Nepal were feted.
