DPM Nidhi in mood to step down; calls emergency meet with NC ministers

KATHMANDU, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi has called an emergency meeting with the ministers in the government representing the Nepali Congress.


According to a source privy to the meeting, DPM Nidhi floated an agenda about his resignation from the post. All the ministers representing the NC including Prakash Sharan Mahat, Arjun Narsingh KC, Keshav Kumar Budhathoki, Balkrishna Khand, Jivan Bahadur Shahi, Nabindra Raj Joshi, Romi Gauchan Thakali were present in the meeting.

The dispute cropped up after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal appointed Kamal Thapa above Nidhi in terms of protocol. The cabinet meeting has also not taken place for the last two weeks due to the same reason.
